How much floor finish will I need for a job?

First,  determine the square footage of the floor -- measure in feet,  and multiply the Length x Width = Square footage of floor. 

As you build coats of floor finish the product will extend longer. On a stripped floor, that has no floor finish,  the target rate of application is 1,500 square feet per gallon. Second, third and fourth coats will extend longer -- up to 3,000 square feet per gallon. 

The above finishes are most commonly used as self-sealing finishes  --  one product does it all. 

To provide the best appearance, protection of the floor surface, and for easy of maintenance, we want to have a minimum of 100% solids of a floor finish on the floor.

Assuming,  a area / room measuring 70' long by 30 feet wide. There is 2,100 square feet. 

If we are using iShine ( 25% solids ) we will need: 

Coat One:  2,100 square feet / 1,500 sq' target = 1.4 gallons
Coat Two:  2,100 square feet / 2,100 sq' target = 1. gallon
Coat Three:  2,100 square feet / 2,500 sq' target = 0.84 gallon
Coat Four:  2,100 square feet / 3,000 sq' target = 0.70 gallon

Therefore, approximately 4 gallons of floor finish will be used. 

MMS is unable to ship Spartan Chemical quarts, gallons, pails, and drums  via UPS. However, MMS does offer excellent delivery service within the Detroit, Macomb, Wayne, and Oakland Counties of Michigan.
